LED Video Wall Part Of New eSports Venue
With technology and video games constantly advancing, it’s little surprise that eSports is growing in popularity. If you’re new to this concept, it’s a term that describes competitive video gaming. This can cover everything from strategy games and first-person shooters to multiplayer online battle arenas.
As well as being incredibly competitive, it’s great to watch as well. And now Las Vegas is fully embracing the sport by setting up a new eSports venue on the strip.
SBC News revealed that this venue will be located at the Luxor Hotel and Casino and will span some 2,787 sq m.
It’s well known that Las Vegas businesses don’t do things by halves, and the same is true here. There will be over 100 gaming stations – for PCs and consoles – in the arena. The operators plan to run daily play and high-stakes tournaments.
One of its most impressive features though is the 50-foot LED video wall that forms part of the competition stage, allowing spectators to see exactly what’s happening in front of the players. There is telescopic seating around the stage to ensure those who want to watch can have a good view.
Other features within the eSports venue include a selection of arcade classics and throwback games, as well as a 360-degree video wall and two Virtuix Omni boards, where players go head to head in an immersive gaming environment, the news provider explained.
LED video walls are being utilised in more and more places, with Samsung launching an LED cinema screen in Switzerland recently.
